What's happening in Yemen?

Yemen is the world's most massive humanitarian crisis, with more than 24 million people (about 80 percent of the population) in need of humanitarian assistance. With the rapid spread of COVID-19, Yemen is facing a collision of two crises, making the country a living hell for children.

How is the crisis affecting children?

Children continue to be killed and maimed during the conflict, the destruction and closure of schools and hospitals disrupt access to education and health services. Around 10.2 million children do not have access to primary health care, making children more vulnerable and depriving them of their future.

With the spread of coronavirus, thousands of children are likely to suffer life-threatening malnutrition in the next six months. The total number of malnourished children under the age of five could rise to 2.4 million.
